Dr. Malte Bahner

Dr. Malte Bahner is one of mivenion's co-founders. From 1990 until 2001 he held several positions in clinical medicine and in diagnostic radiology, both in more clinical and more scientifically oriented institutions. In 2001, Dr. Bahner joined Schering AG, where he was involved in all aspects of clinical development of different diagnostic agents. In 2005 he founded Bahner-Consulting in medicine, a dedicated scientific consulting company.

Dr. Bahner is board certified for Diagnostic Radiology, for Physician Quality Management, holds a degree in Betriebswirtschaft (IWW), and is a member of the Medical Faculty of the Ruprecht-Karls University (Heidelberg). He is author and co-author of more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and a number of patent applications.

Dr. Kai Licha

Head of R&D

Responsibilities: Drug Discovery Research, Chemical development, Patents

Dr. Kai Licha studied chemistry at the TU Berlin and held a position of project leader at the Institute for Diagnostics Research GmbH in Berlin from 1993 to 2000, were he pioneered the design and development of novel diagnostic probes for optical imaging. In 2000, he moved to a senior scientist position at Schering AG, were he was involved in discovery and development of contrast agents and imaging probes for optical imaging, MRI and radiopharmaceuticals.

Numerous scientific publications and patent families of basic impact to the field and leadership in conferences have been derived from his work. He is a member of the chemical faculty of the Free University Berlin.

Dr. Michael Schirner

Dr. Michael Schirner is one of mivenion's co-founders. He studied medicine at the University Jena and University of Halle, where he completed his doctoral thesis (MD) in 1990.

From 1990 to 2007, Dr. Michael Schirner held several management positions at Schering AG Berlin. He was involved in the discovery and development of anti-angiogenic drugs, anti-tumor chemotherapeutic drugs, and molecular imaging agents for optical imaging, ultrasound and X-ray.

In 1997, he was an attending scientist in the Harvard Medical School, Boston, U.S.A..

Dr. Michael Schirner is board certified for pharmacology and toxicology, and member of the Medical Faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin (Charité Berlin). He is author and co-author of more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications and numerous patent applications.
